Cork footbed

Five layers for optimal walking – the Birki’s cork footbed

Every insole consists of five processed layers which each undertake a different task:
from relaxing cushioning to supporting stabilisation right through to moisture transport for a comfortable foot climate.

1 -   A first jute layer wicks away moisture from the foot and stabilises the footbed.
2 -   The anatomically designed cork latex core perfectly fits the ridges and indentations of the foot.
3 -   A soft suede cover is located directly under the sole of the foot – this wicks away moisture into the interior of the footbed.
4 -   The second jute layer is the final layer of the footbed and is attached to the EVA sole. Both these elements give the footbed stability.

The extra layer of comfort – Birki’s soft footbed

A particularly soft, durable elastic latex cushion on our soft footbed ensures that it is pleasantly soft and highly comfortable. There is an integrated layer of latex between a soft suede cover and an anatomically designed cork core. The special thing about this is that the latex cushion is made individually for each size and always returns to its original shape – it does not go flat. For a long-lasting soft feeling of comfort!

1 -   The elastic latex cushion ensures that it is noticeably soft and comfortable.
